Lauren H.

Lauren graduated from Grand Rapids Community College in 2010 with a degree in psychology and is currently attending school to obtain her License in Veterinary Technology (LVT). In her free time Lauren enjoys reading, watching baseball, camping, swing dancing downtown, and traveling. She has been to France twice; once in a study abroad program, and another time as an interpreter for a missions group. Lauren also enjoys giving lots of love and attention to her "old man". Lauren always wanted a dog of her own but grew up in a pet-free environment because of her mother's allergies. She moved into her own home in 2010 and the very next day she adopted a chihuahua-dachshund ("chiweenie") named Wrigley.


Angelica is a student at Baker College and will be graduating in the Fall of 2016 with a Bachelor of Business Administration, specializing in management. In the future she would like to work for a non-profit organization that focuses on animal welfare, such as the Humane Society of the United States. At home, Angelica has a 2-year old, spunky, domestic short-hair cat named Emilio. When not at work, Angelica enjoys spending time with friends, attending any music related event, and relaxing.




Maddy is a student at Grand Valley State University, hoping to one day attend vet school at MSU. She currently works at two veterinary clinics and volunteers at the Wildlife Rehab Center. Her family means the world to her, especially her two younger brothers and one younger sister. In her free time, Maddy loves being outside, riding quads and dirt bikes, snowmobiling, fishing, camping, or anything else with her cousins. She has an old beagle named Riley and two kitties, Dexter and Remy.




Kate is a Grand Rapids native with a degree in film from Grand Valley State University. She is married with two dogs; Freddie, a Boston terrier, and Ellie, a schnauzer mix and has a daughter, Emma. In her spare time she enjoys reading, watching her favorite TV shows, and crafting.



Tessa is from South Haven, MI and graduated from Western Michigan University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Environmental Studies. Her passions include: adventuring, kayaking, hiking, and photography. She spends most of her free time exploring her passions with her boyfriend and their two dogs. Her future plans include traveling the world to study endangered species and their habitats.




Madison graduated from Aquinas College in 2014 with a Bachelor’s degree in biology.  She hopes to attend Michigan State University to earn a degree in veterinary medicine in the near future. Madison has two Australian cattle dogs, a red one named Zooey who is 9 years old, and a blue one named Dexter who is 7 months old. In her free time, Madison enjoys snowboarding, hiking, swimming, and spending time with her friends and family.





Amy grew up in Plymouth, MI and moved to Grand Rapids in 2004. She has been working and volunteering in shelters and veterinary clinics for over 11 years. She plans to pursue a degree in Zoology and fulfill her dream of wildlife conservation. Amy is very passionate about helping people and their pets! When not working, she enjoys playing pool, hiking, painting, and hanging out with her dog, Devo.




Rachel is a recent graduate, with a degree in Zoology from Michigan State University. Go Green! She wants to attend graduate school, but she's not sure for what yet. Rachel has a passion for helping others and a strong love of animals, which she thinks will help her thrive in this position. Rachel was born and raised 30 minutes outside of Philadelphia, PA and this will be here fifth year living in Michigan! She tries to visit family as often as possible and with a 9.5 hour drive home, it's a good thing she enjoys driving! Rachel enjoys drawing, running, being outside and watching sports (especially hockey - Go Flyers!) whenever she isn't busy. She has always grown up with dogs and cats around the house. Currently at home there are 4 dogs and a bird. Rachel eventually wants to have some pets of her own when the time is right.



Haley G

Haley grew up outside of the Chicagoland area, but has lived in Grand Rapids since 2012. She graduated from Grand Valley State University with a degree in Biology with a Pre-Veterinary emphasis and a minor in Applied Statistics. Haley has grown up with a passion for animals, and hopes to become a veterinarian herself one day. Haley has a terrier mix, named Milo, two birds, Storm and Rain, and a lizard named Franklin. In her free time, Haley likes to do yoga, hike, and go to the dog park with Milo!




Desiree was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She is currently working on a biology degree and plans to transfer to Grand Valley State University in the fall of 2018. Desiree has a beautiful cat named Sunny, which she would consider her child. In her spare time, Desiree enjoys spending time with loved ones, reading, dancing and kayaking.
